It feels so good to be back home. I just came back from the VOCARÉ retreat yesterday.
I learnt a lot, made new friends and learnt more about my career goals, path and aspirations! The retreat was at Camp Alonim and the kosher food was amazing. Being away from home, made me miss my daily routine and I decided it was time for me to share with you all my daily college routine.
Initially I wanted to make a VLOG for this but I just sold my Sony Alpha Camera 🙁 because I wasn’t too happy with it. Honestly I think CANON is the way to go. If you guys have any camera recommendations let me know! I think in the near future I would like to invest in my Youtube channel but as you all know I am a college student. Editing videos is very time consuming and I’m afraid that leaves me less time to study. However I am still interested in creating videos because it is my passion and hobby! :p
In my previous blog post I mentioned here that I use google calendar religiously. Google calendar is everything to me. I put reminders, color code my classes and even put the time I need to leave for appointments so I am never late.
So this is what a typical day looks like for me:
6:00am
I wake up and walk all the way to the other room to stop my alarm clock from ringing. If you like to snooze in like me, I highly suggest you place your alarm as far as possible, so you are required to get up and press stop. It has worked for me so far!
Normally during this time I do my skincare routine by Dr. Jennifer Ahdout and let the treatment set on my face. I suffer from hormonal acne and currently I am on medication for another month until I see my dermatologist again for a check up. I will post more about this soon. While I let my face to fully dry, I make my morning shake by Shakeology and then shower, change and do my make up.
7:00am
I sit down, enjoy my shake and respond to my emails. I also check my calendar for the week to make sure everything runs smoothly so I meet my deadlines.
8:00am
I leave for class early so I can find parking and do some homework or reading before class starts. I like being early for classes because I use the time to settle in, gather my thoughts and look at my previous notes to see if there are any questions I can ask my professor.
9:00am to noon
My first class starts at 9:00am and when I am done I go to the library to study. I try to get as much work done before I head home. I am a productive person in the morning than in the evening. When I am done studying early I make an effort to go to office hours to talk to my Professors.
Lunch Time
I have my lunch from Regiment Meals. I always bring my lunch to school and I use the microwave to heat up my food. I love Regiment meals. It makes my life less stressful and I don’t have to worry about cooking or eating out.
1:00 to 3:00pm
WORK TIME! I work at the College of Business handling confidential paper work and assisting students to their advisors. I love my job because I get to meet new students and I love my boss! She is awesome.
Gym Time
I get out of work and head straight to the gym. Usually my gym bag is packed and ready to go in the car. That way I don’t need to make a stop at home.
5:00pm
Once I am done lifting I go home, shower and have my dinner by Regiment Meals. I am normally very tired, sore and hungry at this time. I try my best not to fall asleep because I don’t want to ruin my sleep schedule.
6:00pm
I do my homework and text my parents to let them know I am okay. I make sure I keep in touch with them everyday so they don’t have to worry about me.
10:00pm
I start winding down, getting ready for bed and turning off my electronics so I don’t get distracted. I spray lavender on my pillow case to help me sleep better.
So there you go, I hope you enjoyed reading my daily college routine 🙂 It feels amazing to be independent! And to live alone.
I feel like my acne is finally clearing up and I am so happy! I feel like my confidence is getting back and I just want to put an end to this. No one should have to suffer from acne. If you haven’t noticed I rarely take selfies because I am so embarrassed about my acne. But that will end soon because I see some progress with my skin.
I will post more about my acne treatment journey soon!
Happy Sunday. I am resting in bed now. I am so tired from the retreat because I had way too much fun 🙂
Bisous,
Catherine Ha
