Having successfully navigated a new life as a foreign student in the USA, I have made it my mission to help others overcome the fears holding them back, and help them confidently follow their dreams to study in America.
I’m Catherine, although many of you may know me as Thuy My, Diem My’s daughter in Vietnam. I was born and raised in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. I moved to America on my own in 2015 to pursue a college degree and start a new life.
My path to college was not easy. After one semester in NYC, I dropped out and had to enroll myself in a community college. It took me two years to get back on track and prepare myself for the transfer process. It has been a long journey, but I am happy to say that I graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a degree in Communications, and currently reside in Los Angeles, California.
Throughout my time as a foreign student, I felt very alone. There were no books or guides to help me either practically or emotionally. I was navigating this journey by myself, and in 2016 I decided what I was learning during my own experience, could help others looking to study in the United States.
I started a blog to share my knowledge and help empower others to pursue a college education and live life on their own terms no matter what background they came from. If I could help bridge that gap of uncertainty, I could make studying abroad so much easier for someone else. From this grew a deeper desire to help others who are starting where I did in 2015.
Now, as a successful graduate, I’ve become a personal life coach and fulfilling my dream of making the student journey in America easier for others. My courses allow me to help individuals before they arrive in America and during their time here. I want to help people take action to change their lives and accomplish their goals.
